PPPS Board of Education District Shout Outs. Build Together

At the end of each regular Board of Education Meeting, board members take a moment to share some of the great things they see in the district while serving on the Board. Here are this month's points of Pride & Progress:

“At the Cedar Street Campus, I would like to start out by recognizing Creed Rayborn as the Cedar Street Student of the Month. Also noteworthy, the teachers at Cedar Street are incorporating projects into various lessons. Blending subjects like physics and art, students are working together to design their own winter sleds. It encourages innovation and teamwork. What a great way to incorporate learning and also enjoy what they’ve made out in the snow!” Dale Pease

"The Paw Paw High School Student of the Month is Landon Kokinis. The high school musical, Spamalot, took place this past weekend. If you didn't see it, you missed a fantastic performance by everyone involved. The cast, crew, musicians, and the entire production team put on a truly fantastic show. The Hall of Fame game is this Friday, February 14 at 7 p.m. with Snowfest to follow next week. I am looking forward to all the pictures of the unique outfits!" Ray Martin

At Paw Paw Middle School, students are getting excited about the upcoming Middle School Jazz Ensemble! Also at the middle school, Mr. McDaniel is to be commended for providing a seamless transition when a science teacher recently retired and a new one was named. There was no gap in the classroom, which shows great continuity. I would also like to point out the great work that is being done at the middle school with the peer-to-peer program. It demonstrates our core value of kindness and how we are leaders in the county through these types of programs.” Lindsay Clark

“At Paw Paw Early Elementary, I’d like to give a huge shout-out to the organizers of the Father-Daughter Dance. My daughter said it was the best time she has ever had! It was nice to see everyone dressed up. Thank you to the Elementary PTO for all they did to organize such a nice event.”  Nate Mitchell

I was happy to see the Administration Building recognize and celebrate Curriculum Director Corey Harbaugh on his recent retirement. I also attended the high school musical, and I was so impressed with the level of talent and how hard they all worked. I was so inspired and proud of our school.” Mary Beth Sons

From the transportation department, I’d like to give a shout-out to Mechanic Josh Gibson for going above and beyond on a snow day when it was below zero. He came in, cleared the buses off, started them up and plowed the lot. Josh is definitely an asset to the school district. Also, shout-out to Angela Vasquez for her leadership in the transportation department.” Tom Imus
