The Red Wolves hosted the Buchanan Bucks Monday night in a non-conference soccer match. The Red Wolves went on the attack early and never let up on the way to a 5-0 win on the night. Scoring started as the ball was played out wide to the left outside back, Brenden Muessig, who played a beautiful cross that dropped in behind the defense perfectly where Kyle Boff took a touch around the goalie before tapping it into the open net. The next goal came on a fast break as center mid, Michael Lounsbury, stole the ball and made a quick pass out wide to an overlapping Brady Holzworth. Holzworth took the defense wide before centering to a wide open Tony Fonseca who buried the shot in the back of the net. The scoring for the first half was capped off as Tyler Klett collected the ball on the left wing and found Holzworth at the top of the box. Holzworth buried the shot in the top left corner of the net to give the Red Wolves a 3-0 lead going into half.

In the second half, the field really tilted towards the Bucks end as the Wolves kept the pressure on with the ball in the attacking half for the rest of the game. The Wolves pressured and attacked but the Bucks defense stayed tight in the middle, and their goalie kept most of the shots out until Tyler Klett was able to beat a defender to the ball in the left corner. He pulled the ball back into open space then centered to Cameron Anderson who settled the ball and placed it into the lower right corner of the net. The scoring was capped off as striker Grant Sholander checked back to a ball in the middle of the field before playing it wide to a streaking Kyle Boff. Boff placed the shot in the lower left corner past the outstretched goalie just as their center back closed in. Landon Brown walks away with his third shutout on the season in net. The boys now turn their attention to the first conference game next week with a home game vs Sturgis next week Wednesday.
