At the end of each regular Board of Education Meeting, board members take a moment to share some of the great things they see in the district while serving on the Board. Here are this month's points of Pride & Progress:
“The Barton Group, one of our bond construction partners, recently organized an experience for “Girls Build Kalamazoo” to come on-site and tour active construction areas at Paw Paw Public Schools, which was super cool. Also, shout-out to the team that puts out the Pride & Progress newsletter. It highlights all the things we have going on in the schools and reflects very well on the district. Lastly, a big shout-out to everyone getting things ready for the upcoming school year!" Dale Pease
“Summer School took place at Paw Paw Later Elementary (PPLE), and it was a huge success! Thank you to the volunteers and interns who helped with that program. Also, for those interested in another volunteer opportunity, there is a playground clean-up at the elementary campus on August 14. Additionally, it was great to see Superintendent Reo and Beckah Chartier representing PPPS/Aspire Academy at Paw Paw Days. I’m also happy to see the enrollment numbers in the Early Childhood Program are looking fantastic! Shout-out to Mindy Brennan and her team for all they are doing to prepare kids for kindergarten! Lastly, I appreciate the administrators for their flexibility and working together to get ready for the new school year." Lindsay Clark
“I’d like to recognize the facilities and technology staff for all the work they are doing behind the scenes to get the classrooms and schools ready. Thank you for being the glue that holds it all together!” Nate Mitchell
"Paw Paw Middle School (PPMS) has been certified as a Michigan Green School by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's Environmental Education Department. What an amazing accomplishment! Thank you to everyone involved who helped PPMS achieve this award. Also, I'd like to give a shout-out to the Reidenbach family for taking care of the PPMS rabbits, Peter and Bugs, over the summer. The rabbits were kept safe and away from the ongoing building construction." Ray Martin
