Paw Paw, MI (October 1, 2024) - The Paw Paw Public Schools (PPPS) Board of Education unanimously appointed Jeremy Davison as its new superintendent of schools, effective October 9, 2024. The announcement was made after the superintendent interview, the review of audience feedback, and discussion by the Board during a special meeting on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Assisted by Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Consultant Dr. Rodney Green, the PPPS Board of Education began the search process when Superintendent Rick Reo announced in September he had accepted another position in a nearby district.
“We were extremely pleased to have a high-quality candidate like Jeremy Davison on staff here at Paw Paw. His knowledge of the district, combined with the fact that he has experience at all levels of K-12 education, made him the perfect fit for us. We can’t wait for him to get started,” said Board President Brent McNitt.
Jeremy Davison is no stranger to PPPS. In addition to serving as Paw Paw Later Elementary Principal since 2015, he has taken on numerous leadership roles in the district, such as establishing a therapy dog program at the later elementary, creating an elementary STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) program, serving on the 2022 Bond Campaign Committee, coordinating the district’s summer learning program, and serving as co-chair of the Social-Emotional Learning Stakeholder team. Mr. Davison is also actively engaged in the Paw Paw community as president of the Paw Paw Lions Club, board trustee of the Paw Paw District Library, co-chair of the PPPS Community Connections Committee, among other roles.
“I have been a proud member of this school district for the last nine years, and I am excited to continue my service to our Red Wolves family and community at the next level, as we celebrate the hard work of our staff and students,” said Jeremy Davison.
Prior to 2015, Mr. Davison was principal of Bangor Middle School for two years and principal at South Walnut Elementary for six years. He also served as assistant principal, grant coordinator and high school history/global issues teacher in Bangor Public Schools.
Mr. Davison received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and his Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. He also obtained a specialty endorsement “Leadership Matters” from the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, and he attended the Superintendent Professional Preparation Series from the Michigan Leadership Institute in 2022.
