Paw Paw Public Schools is accepting applications from parents and other community members interested in serving on the Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB), a required committee of District stakeholders who review the sex education program, establish goals, and make recommendations as necessary to the PPPS Board of Education.
Membership requirements are established by law, and the committee must contain parents, educators, and representatives from health care and the local clergy.
The 2024-2026 SEAB will serve from Fall, 2024 to August 2026.
Applications can be accessed and downloaded at this link, SEAB MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION, and interested community members are invited to contact Curriculum Director Corey Harbaugh with questions or for more information at 269-415-5211 or corey.harbaugh@ppps.org.
Applications can also be picked up in any school office starting Friday, October 11.
All applications must be received in the District Administration Office by October 31, 2024 for full consideration.
Applications will be selected by a three-person committee that includes the former/current SEAB chairpersons. Because membership must include participants from certain roles (i.e. clergy and healthcare), membership decisions must ensure full representation. Consideration will also be given to ensure the committee has a cross-section of perspectives and representation (i.e. members who are parents of elementary, middle, and high school aged students).
The committee will be limited to 17 members, per board approval of the PPPS SEAB.
Please consider applying for this committee.
