Instead, they should tell the driver and follow the driver’s instructions. • Remind children to look to the right before they step off the bus. • If you meet your child at the bus stop after school, wait on the side where the child will be dropped off, not across the street. National school bus safety week. Walking to the Bus Stop • Walk young children to the bus stop or encourage children to walk in groups. There is safety in numbers; groups are easier for drivers to see. • Practice good pedestrian behavior: walk on the sidewalk, and if there is no sidewalk stay out of the street. If you must walk in the street, walk single file, face traffic and stay as close to the edge of the road as you can. • Stop and look left, right and then left again if you must cross the street. Do the same thing at drive -ways and alleys. Exaggerate your head turns and narrate your actions so your child knows you are looking left, right and left. Please join the Class of ‘24 Grad Bash for our Homecoming Food Truck Rally that will be held on Friday, October 6th from 4:30-7:30 pm in the Paw Paw Middle School Parking Lot. We will have 7 food trucks including: Kona Ice, La Chula Mobile, Motor Mouth, Patriot Pizza & Pretzels, Scott’s Pig Roast, The Mobile Crave and Roll Up Ice Cream & Bubble Tea. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Class of ‘24 Grad Bash.
Another great day at Cedar Street. We were able to jump into CharacterStrong lessons with the entire student body this morning...Mrs. Roberts, our counselor, led the group in a great session about connections. We ended the meeting by creating journals to write about our session prompts and character dares that we will be implementing over the school year. This weeks prompt- What does community mean to you?
